Strong voice raised for release of Sikh prisoners who completed sentences: Akali Dal Waris Punjab De thanks public, calls on community to stand by fighters who sacrificed lives for Panth
Sri Fatehgarh Sahib: Massive awareness march began from Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, a holy land sanctified by the supreme martyrdom of the younger Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri Ji, demanding the immediate release of Bandi Singhs who remain detained in various prisons across the country despite completing their formal prison sentences. The march set off after an Ardas ceremony held under the guidance of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and led by the Panj Pyare. It will pass through several towns and villages across Punjab before concluding at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo.
At the launch of this awareness march, Bapu Tarsem Singh, father of Khadoor Sahib Member of Parliament Bhai Amritpal Singh, senior Akali leader Manpreet Singh Ayali, religious personalities, representatives of farmer organizations, human rights activists, and a large number of Panthic supporters took part. Along the march route, congregations from various villages and towns gave a warm welcome, arranging community meals and drinking water facilities at multiple points.
Akali Dal Waris Punjab De thanks community for support:
The political party Akali Dal Waris Punjab De and the organizing team expressed heartfelt gratitude to the general public for the overwhelming response and support received from all sections of society, including youth, elders, and women. Party leaders stated that the aware people of Punjab have always stood by justice, truth, and genuine rights. They added that this large gathering proves that the Sikh community still holds deep pain in their hearts for their detained fighters.
Call to stand by fighters who dedicated their lives to the Panth:
Addressing the gathering, Bapu Tarsem Singh and other leaders spoke emotionally, stating that the time has come for the entire community to stand firmly behind these Bandi Singhs and fighters who gave up their youth and entire lives for the Panth. They said that these brave men endured unbearable hardships inside prison cells for decades, but never wavered from their faith, principles, and religion.
The leaders stated that releasing prisoners who have completed their life terms is a basic constitutional and legal right of every citizen, but governments continue to apply double standards to Bandi Singhs. They appealed to all sections of society, youth, and social organizations to rise above partisan politics, unite on a single platform, and raise their voices so the government takes notice. They made it clear that until all Bandi Singhs return home, this peaceful and democratic struggle will continue.
